MARKET OVERVIEW

1. Stock Market:

  • Vietnam Market: The market is undergoing a correction after an attempt to surpass the 1,500-point level, with liquidity remaining high—indicating strong profit-taking pressure while supportive capital inflow is cooling down. The corrective trend may continue to rebalance after a rapid rally. However, the 1,460–1,475 zone is expected to act as support, providing an opportunity for the market to retest the 1,500-point resistance.

  • U.S. Market: Continued positive momentum as the S&P 500 rose 0.1% to close at 6,305.60 points and the Nasdaq advanced 0.4% to 20,974.17 points, both setting new record highs, while the Dow Jones dipped slightly by 0.04% to 44,323 points. The gains were fueled by strong earnings reports from Verizon (+4%) and Cleveland-Cliffs (+12%), along with growing expectations that the Fed may cut interest rates in September—currently priced in at around 58%. Investors are now focused on major tech earnings this week, including Alphabet and Tesla.

Intraday range: 116,767 – 119,524 USD.
